NOTE: Try this product at your own risk. If it works for me, it does not mean it will work for you too. Everyone has different types of skin. My skin consists of dry -combination - sensitive type of skin.
WARNING: Gross stuff in this entry!!! Please read everything! Its important!
This product is called SMOOTH LEGS which is like a pad with superfine crystals that removes unwanted hair. I'm sure you guys have seen this at the mall or at CVS. Well, this is my own opinion and just wants to share you guys my experience with this product.
This is their website. Go click it for more information of their product.
http://smoothnsexyskin.com/
Their website claims that SMOOTH LEGS removes unwanted hair and exfoliates your skin at the same time for the softest skin ever. The secret is the superfine crystals that quickly and gently removes hair from legs, underarms, and facial areas.
PROS: NONE!! EVER!!!! I would never ever buy this again and would never recommend this product to anyone!
CONS: A LOT OF CONS!!! 1st is the price. I bought 2 because my mom wants 1 too. It was 2 for $43. Yes it was $20/each at the mall. I know, I should have just gotten it at CVS for a cheaper price but it was too late when I found out that CVS carries this product as well.
In their website, they said that it exfoliates the skin? Its texture is fine but it feels like a sand paper! I followed the instructions and stated there that you need to remove all the creams and lotions before you use it, and I did. But guess what! It left my skin really harsh and bumpy! It was red! It was gross!!!
I tried it on my armpit as well but it just left it bumpy and red as well. It was so hard to remove the hairs. When I tried it at the mall, it was OK but later on, my skin became harsh and red.
This is my legs hours after I use their product. Sorry my legs are so dry. lol.
So what I did is I tried to contact them and emailed them all of my concerns because the mall where I bought said they can't refund it. I was hoping the company would at least refund my purchase, but I waited for days and there was no respond. When I tried to email them again, it stated on the Email Notification that the recipient rejected my email. WOW! I am beyond disappointed with them. I hope they will be able to read this! I am not the ONLY ONE who feels disappointed on this product! Some blogger girls told me that they felt the same too.
Such a waste of money!

Oh no! I was just looking at this the other day, wondering how it works. I'm sorry about your leg! What a useless product :( Hopefully your leg will recover soon, lather lots of moisturizer on it!!!
ReplyDeleteWHOA! Your skin! Thats horrible!!! I am so glad you informed us so none of us will waste our money on such a poor product!!
ReplyDeleteDid u buy this from a mall kiosk? I am always so iffy about those kiosk or just businesses in general that say NO RETURNS! I almost NEVER buy anything that has such a poor return policy.
Thats quite expensive too for 2 of those! If you seriously cant get a response via email, I would write to them by mail and link your blog post and say if they don't refund, you will continue to let everyone know how poor of a product AND company they are. >_<
-I fixed my comment issue. Thank u for letting me know about that! =)
Such a terrible product! Thank you for telling us about it. I hope your legs get better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no Iyah your legs!! Lots of unscented lotion on them should help!
ReplyDeleteAnd they rejected your email?! WHat pussys! Companies like that should not be in business. You should call them and bitch up a storm or report them to the Better Business Beaurau.
I wonder if the SMOOTH AWAY is anything like this one. Cuz I've heard good things about SMOOTH AWAY. Target sell them for $10 I think. I'll go try them later and let you know.
thanks for letting us know about the product...ouch hope they'll do a refund!
ReplyDeleteI avoid any aggressive hair removal because Asians typically are not very hairy and the hairs are very fine and sparse.
ReplyDeleteI avoid waxing because it takes a layer of skin off, and dipilatories are too harsh for my skin.
As for electronic hair removal--foreget it! The last time I had a leg wax, the beauty therapist told me that it was a waste of time and money because I had so little hair!
So, I just use a posh Gilette razor in the shower--the one with 5 blades. Same with the pits.
Good luck in your hair removal search!
Ohhh no!! Ouch...that looks like it really hurts! Sorry about all the cons and disappointment...and I can't believe they rejected your e-mail! I'd definitely look into doing what Kalila said above. I definitely won't buy this product!
ReplyDeletei watched FOX news test try all the products and the only thing that sorta worked a little was the sham wow. lol but even that itself wasn't great.
ReplyDeleteaww that sucks! the one at cvs worked for me :[
ReplyDeleteoh my...that really sucks! my jaw dropped when i saw your pictures...i can't believe they won't even refund your money back..so sorry to hear what happened:( i hope your legs get better hun!
ReplyDeleteand thanks for sharing your experience and reviewing this product..i was planning on buying it but damn im scared now yikes.
Sorry to hear your bad exp with the product and thx for the review!
ReplyDeleteI hope your skin heals soon.I got those bumps and rash once (although
Not from scrubbing them) and I put tea tree oil on them.it works to soothe
The redness n bumps
aww..poor Iyah legs. I hope the bumps and redness goes away soon. Those hair removal kits suck!!
ReplyDeleteOh my... that sucks! I hope your skin heels soon!!!
ReplyDeleteOmg I can't believe what happened to your legs! That is beyond horrible.. I was going to buy this thing too but now I'm not! The only 'as seen on TV' product that works for me is the Ped-egg. I think that's pretty good but everything else is eh.... -_-; I'm so sorry to hear that the company didn't respond to you either. Hopefully your skin will heal soon!
ReplyDeleteoh my.. did the redness went away already?? i think the company answer for that.. tsk tsk.. i hope your blog post will reach the,.. hope it will heal soon..
ReplyDeletewow thanks for this review hun..I was curious about this!! I'm staying far far far away from it!
ReplyDeleteYou've got mail!
Steph
oh my, that is really bad. I'm so scare of using these types of things. I did remove my hair by using a small love shape thing, something like massage to remove my hair. i hope u get well soon because it really looks like allergic or skin irritation. >.<
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I can't believe that is how they handled the situation. I guess they knew that their product sucks. Prrrrrf! Hope it resolves though. ♥
ReplyDeletewow; i was thinking about purchasing that product also but i don't think it would be a good idea after all my skin is very sensitive.
ReplyDeletetry Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment, they sell them at cvs or any other drugstore it heels dry skin.
feel better xoxox
omg im so sorry that happened!
ReplyDeletewhen i went over to my friend's house, she had this and i tried it out on my arm (not legs cuz i already had them clean shaven), and it didn't give me any rashes and actually got off my hair. My friend told me that this mainly works if you have stubbles, as in long stubbles from not shaving for a couple days, and mainly if the hair is sorta thin. It's been a week and my hair just started growing back.
but. but but but. my friend's legs are always prone to looking like how yours ended up, and after she used this smooth away thing, it didnt' really make her legs all that smooth. She has really thick leg hair so though it helped some, this isn't the solution to all.
this didnt' burn my arm at all. ...though im scared to think what would have happened if i used it on my leg like you did.
i think this product is only good to use for thin, short hair =/...which is pretty useless considering how expensive it is.
omg! that sucksss ive seen that at the mall too before, but i always ignore them! lol.. sorry bout ur leg! wow looks really bad! =[ such a terrible company!!
ReplyDeleteplease tell me you paid with a credit card! if so, you will have a GOOD chance of getting a refund. if you paid with a credit card, email/write/call ur credit card company and file a dispute. tell them what happened and show them proof that you contacted the company. email the company again and save a copy to send into the credit card company. what the credit card company will do is contact the company you bought from and get your money back. it works. trust me! i've done it before. companies are supposed to SATISFY you and make sure you're happy, not IGNORE you. if i were you, write them back one more time and be stern and let them know you are going to file a dispute or take it into court. see if they respond then. also send an attachment of your pics to show the damage! they would be stupid to NOT respond!
ReplyDeletethat suckkkkkks! o____o i say go back and complain and get your money back!!
ReplyDeleteThis is actually not a new product. They were selling them a couple years ago... maybe 7 or so... like Target and Walgreens and stuff. I tried it and it did the same thing. When I saw it being advertised again... yeesh...
ReplyDeleteAND they jacked up the price! Since it wasn't that popular back then, they were selling 2 for $5.
SHADY! Sorry about the bad experience :(
Oh my....do you think that was an expensive dupe of smooth away????or was it the same but different packaging....I tried the smooth away but worked on me....it only sells like $10 at the drugstore...and I really have the most sensitive skin...a single scratch would give me eczema....
ReplyDeleteoh! I hope your sexy legs gets rid of those bumps. I purchased something similar to this (not the actual product) and I HATED it! It does feel like sand paper. and it just felt horrible against my skin. I haven't bought anything relative to products that will "rub" off hair. They NEVER work (for me that is).
ReplyDeleteis there a number you can call or anything like that? you need to talk to a supervisor! this is ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteOMG! That sucks! I would take these pics & go to the store & show them. Then have someone call them & say they're your lawyer. Lie girl! Look what the're doing to you.
ReplyDeletexo
ahh lammmee! When i saw the informecials for this, i thought it was too good to be true.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review and hope your skin recovers!!
*hugs and kisses*
<33 Penelope
oh man that sucks! but thanks for this because i was thinking of buying it! nope, not anymore! haha
ReplyDeleteaw im so sorry to hear about your experience. you know, my bf suggested to me that i should never buy anything at the mall, esp the one with booths b/c if the product is good enough, it would have its own store. know what i mean? and i cant believe the rejected your email. i will keep complaining and call
ReplyDeleteWould u be so kind to mention the blog sale directory blog onto your next upcoming posts and/or on your side bar so that we can establish a fabulous resource page? =))
ReplyDeletehttp://www.beautyblogsaledirectory.blogspot.com
=D
OMG! Your poor legs. Lather it up with lotion.
ReplyDeleteIs there a number you can call to complain about what the product did to your skin?
I hope your legs get better!!
oh my gosh hun...your legs...i hope theyre ok now...& thanks for the review & letting us all know about it
ReplyDeletethat's some fu&!)#* up Sh&#)%*!!!! Thank you for posting this and it's so sad how terrible some peoples' ethics are!!! *Shakes head* i'm sorry you weren't happy with the product. are your legs better now though? hope so.
ReplyDeleteOh MY! That does not look good? Thanks for the review. Best of luck to you.
ReplyDeletei did try this product too at the the mall and good thing i didn't buy it!!! the SA tried it on my arms and seconds later it left my skin STINGING!!!! and the day after, my skin felt and looked horrible, with very rough patch!!! my skin was rough for bout a week and a half even though i applied lotion every friggin' minute! LOL.
ReplyDeletesorry u had to experience this too.
OUCH!!!! If it was a mall kiosk, can you speak to the management at the mall? If one of their kiosks is providing inferior service they should know. Maybe they could at least give u a credit to the mall (mall gift certificate) to use in another store?
ReplyDeleteIf that doesnt work, have ur mom do it. LOL. For some reason, management-types always listen to middle aged women over younger ladies. I dont know why, maybe its bc moms know what to say to get their way.
ReplyDeleteHi ya:) Me too, I love Korres!!! It's the best. Before you try this particular scrub though, you said before that you have dry skin, and the scrub packaging says it's for oily to combo skin, so it might be too harsh/stripping for your skin? If you want to see if this scrub works for ya or not, maybe you could go get a sample first, or I could send you some to try before you buy it, just in case!
ReplyDeletehehe I know, isn't L'egere the best!
How are your legs today? Hope it's getting better!!!
whoa. i'm so sorry about what happened to your legs. that looks painful. i hope they get better soon. gosh. what a rip-off.
ReplyDeletethank you for the review, but i'm really sorry you experienced this.
haha omg! this is sad news.. seriously.. they ignored ur calls n emails too huh.. thats def bullshit n just wanna make money off of ya... gurl go sell it on ebay for a cheap price! lol me n my bf saw it on imformcials.. but we're like.. nahh this shit is BS! lol but good thing ur sharing this wit all of us
ReplyDeleteAy dios!! What kinda phuckery is that product!!!! I agree w/ Ms. Kalila write them a letter and include the URL to your blog. Any company should know this basic marketing principle. "If a consumer has a negative experience they will tell 8-10 people and those people will usually tell 5 more. If a consumer has a positive experience with a product they will only tell 3-5 people...
ReplyDeleteHopefully there is some kind of warranty in the packaging. Good thing you didn't use it on your face...
XoXo
PS Your still pretty anyways even with irritate legs & pits!
Wow that is a crappy piece of a product!! I can't believe it made you all bumpy and red!
ReplyDeleteOuch! that looks like it hurts, I hope it'll heal soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reviewing this and will definitely not buy it since my skin is very sensitive. Thank you again for sharing it with us!
If you have time head over to www.mrszeus.blogspot.com to play with us for Monday Matters.
Hope to hear form you!
that's terrible! i got the Smooth Away and that was ok. It didn't do a GREAT job, but it definitely wasn't a traumatic experience.
ReplyDeleteWOW, reading this made me SO ANGRY FOR YOU! Ugh, I would seriously find a way for them to refund my money. Can you sue them!?
ReplyDeletethat's horrible that happened to you and they're quiet expensive as well. i would be so peed off!
ReplyDeleteOMGee! You poor thing! Were you allergic? This porduct looks just like Smooth Away, I blogged about it. This never happened to me.
ReplyDeleteouch!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for informing...was thinking about buyign this product...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this! I was thinking about this product and I am so glad I saw your site. My legs and everything gets irritated more than anyone I know, so if this irritates anyone it will definately irritate me. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI bought this Smooth Legs on Saturday and used it immidiately! Right after using it, my legs started burning....I had same exact bumps and red lash as you had.
ReplyDeleteIt is so itchy right now!
Unfortunately, I did not research about this product beforehand...
I went to the website that you provided, and guess what! They no longer exsist! Such a scam!
well, i saw they having an advertisement now on facebook with this url: http://www.mysmoothlegs.com/MY?a=001
ReplyDeleteSo everyone pls beawares of it.
Hey! I got this for christmas last year in my stocking haha :)
ReplyDeleteanyway...it worked miracles on my legs and arms! it just leaves like a dusty powder on my skin afterwards, but that just wipes away....So i was all excited about it 'cuz it worked so well for me....
well...I tried it on my underarms...it gave me this crazy rash and seriously I wish I had taken a picture because Its hard to explain...it make the hair from my underarms almost like embedded in my skin...it took me like a week before I could shave my underarms again...So now I just strictly use this for my legs or arms if I am in a pinch and need to be somewhere and dont have time to shave!
Sorry that happend to your legs! that looked painful!
Thanks for the review. I wont buy it.
ReplyDeleteThey advertise on facebook as mysmoothlegs.com
Saw it on facebook too. Decided to find a review on it, and I'm damn happy I did. It's a shame you had to learn it the hard way so that all the fortunate ones here don't. It just goes to show how eff-ed up commercialism is >.<
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Iyah!
you are an angel :)
ReplyDeletethanks for telling us. I was just about to buy it.
Actually, i forgot that nothing that removes anything by abrasion would leave you smooth and fine because our natural response is inflammation when we rub our skin, no matter how soft or little the abrasive is.
thank you once again!

ReplyDeleteAh... it's because you bought the fake one. The original one has a different case. and the color of the pad is black.
ReplyDeleteyou can see the original my smooth legs products at GirlJapan Shop
Should have read this before I bought mine. Mine looks the same as the one featured in GirlJapan Shop mentioned in the above comment. I bought mine at Target and I had the same result as you did. Bumpy red skin. Horrible!
ReplyDeleteI went back to epilating.

(furious) Sigh, I guess this kind of thing is just really too good to be true after all, huh? Sigh, OTZ...... Truly, once again, thank you so much! ^ ^
